Just as I thought that they wouldn't be able to top 'Vampires in Venice', the writers of Doctor Who bring us 'Vincent and the Doctor'. It's quite possibly going to be the best episode of season five, and ironically enough, I suspect that it was really a filler episode designed to tide us over until *DUNDUNDUN* The Return of the CRAAAAAAAAACK.1I am really glad that there were no neon-sign-esque references to the bloody crack in the wall in this episode. Not only would it have been out of place, it would have completely ruined the tone of the episode.
1 Good lord, Moffat. Subtly is really not your strong suit now is it? The way you draw our attention to the craaaaaaack of doom is so unsubtle, Bollywood movies are gonna want to borrow those plot devices.
Yanno, looking at the tone of this episode had me wondering: when does explain the overarching themes becomes talking down to your audience?
It once again reminds us that not only is Amy Pond still the adorable little girl we met in the very first episode, she's compassionate and composed.
The more I watch Amy Pond, the more I want gingers in my life. Let the search for the ultimate ging begin?
